Introductory Package

1.
Half-Hour Phone Consultation
- During
our half hour consultation, we discuss where you are and
where you want to go with your writing. My goal is for
you to have a clearer understanding of the writing process
and your place in it. Without an understanding of the
process, we are often working blindly, which allows our
Inner Critic to run rampant and ultimately, our creativity
and imagination dry up. Our conversation is geared toward
jump starting your writing by giving you a new perspective
on the writing process. The call is individualized to
meet your specific needs.

Email Critiquing Session
-
Email
me up to 25 pages of your writing, double-spaced. You
can send more than one piece of writing, but the total
pages should not be more than 25 with side margins
of at least 1 inch. I will reformat it in Word.

Please
copy and paste your writing into the body of the email.

Include
any information about you and your writing that you want
me to know. This is not included in the page count but
should not go over two pages, double spaced.

I
will send you back a detailed critique. You can email
me back questions from the critique and I will respond.

If
you want me to reread your re-write, there will be an
additional charge.

In-depth Introductory Package
This
package is the most in-depth exploration of your writing,
and the best way to see if you want to work with me as your
coach on an ongoing basis. The package includes two phone
sessions and a reading of up to fifty double-spaced pages.
- After
receiving your payment, I will call you (or you can call
me at 914 962 4432).
- During
the first phone call, we'll talk for a half an hour about you
and your writing.
- Then
we'll set up a time for our next phone conversation.
- After
that, you'll send me your writing, up to fifty double-spaced
pages.

During
the next phone session (we can meet in person if you live
within driving distance of my home in Westchester County,
NY), we explore the writing that you sent me in detail,
open up the piece and take it to the next step. I explain
what is working well in your writing and explain why
it is working. I pinpoint what is not working well
enough, explain why, and give you tools to develop you
as a writer.
We often explore character development through one of
my favorite, fun and eye-opening techniques, Interviewing
the Character. This is a great way to experience point
of view in a visceral way. We can also explore the impact
of your Inner Critic and ways to defang it. The conversation
is completely guided by your writing and your needs. We
talk for anywhere from one to two hours. The session continues
until I have an understanding of your writing process
and until you feel inspired and have several ideas of
where to go next with your writing.
