Why Do You Write?

I write... to fight the illusion that we are alone. If what I express touches something inside of you, then you will know me as a reflection of
your longing. Of all the things we can achieve as humans, touching our own
souls and sharing our experience is the most courageous, whole hearted act
of kindness we can perform.

  • I think I write because I did well in composition in grade school, which caused adults to expect that I would write as an adult, which they repeated to me until I believed them.

In reality, although I have many ideas that may possibly be of value if executed, I never get started executing them. The only one I've really tried (and not succeeded) is the story of my life, by popular demand.

  • It's Junel8, and strolling by I have the urge to let my fingers tell me why I write. I write to believe I am important, useful, and have meanings/messages worth recording/sharing.
    I write to stay sane.

I write because it feels good.
I write because I'd so much like to kill ICK and get on with perfecting what gift with words I have.
Great late at night to be able to toss this into a blog that probabaly no one will ever see. But I wrote it. I am a writer so surely. Maybe that is the real reason I write. I am truly a writer. Claire
