This series will culminate with an optional week-long retreat in Bar Harbor, Maine, home of Acadia National Park, truly sacred land, a place where “The mountains touch the sea.” My husband and I are fortunate beyond belief to have purchased many years ago shorefront land that abuts the mountains of Acadia to the west and Frenchman’s Bay and the open ocean to the east. We are building a house there and plan to be finished in time for our new home to be the meeting place for this retreat.

Merely to sit on the rocks and let the sun, the sky and the sea embrace me is the most calming, cleansing and nourishing experience I have ever had. This small piece of land is, for us, nirvana, and I look forward with joy and expectation our retreat on this sacred land.

This retreat will follow a somewhat different format from past retreats. We will come together in our circle, but there will be plenty of time to listen to the song of your soul as you sit on the rocks, walk on the multitude of trails, many of which have breath-taking views of the ocean, explore the park, bike on the miles and miles of carriage trails, canoe in lakes, kayak on the sea, enjoy a nature cruise in Frenchman's Bay and explore the town of Bar Harbor. Acadia is a retreat paradise! Space at this retreat will be limited, and women who participate in The House of the Dark Moon will have first preference.
