Emily and You: Walking the Path of the Fiction Writer A Powerful Mentoring Program For All Levels of Writers
What is the Mentoring Program and How Does It Work? The Mentoring Program is a completely individualized six or twelve month journey designed to meet your specific needs. It is for anyone who wants to make huge jumps and lasting changes in their writing.
Because Communication Between Us Is So Essential to Your Success in The Mentoring Program...
We talk for an hour once or twice a week and, as part of the Mentoring Program, each session goes on for as long as needed.
We have a private email address where you can text me and receive an immediate response. I also text you reminders, challenges and happy thoughts about you, your writing process and your characters!
I set up a private blog where you can post as often as you like. I read what you post as soon as I can and, in addition, the blog becomes a record of your personal development through the year as well as the growth of your characters and stories.
The Benefits of The Mentoring Program Are Not Just From Our Formal Sessions. Imagine this scenario: You’re writing away, suddenly everything you write sounds like garbage, and you find yourself falling into a downward spiral.
But instead of being demolished by this Inner Critic attack, you contact me immediately. You pick up the phone and call me, or post your feelings on our private blog, or send me an email on our private email.
As soon as you have done this, just knowing you have reached out and put what's happening into words gives you power over your Inner Critic.
When we talk, I’ll remind you that you have forgotten this truth -- nothing you write is ever garbage. Rather what you've dismiss as garbage is the fertile ground from which you and your characters and stories grow.
Then we’ll explore this so-called garbage and shine the light on the hidden jewels that lie within it. We’ll come up with scenarios that get you writing happily again!
These informal, spur of the moment connections will often be the most effective way of making you succeed as a writer.
