As a published novelist, one of my great passions is teaching others how to unleash their stories and put them down on the often unfriendly page.
Writing historical fiction can be especially tough to do.
Why? The researching!
Although research into the time period of your story is fascinating and invaluable when writing a historical novel, the danger is that it can quickly start to take up all of your writing time.
Having the internet at our fingertips makes researching all the more addictive, and this is one of the first areas of writing historical fiction that I go over with my new students.
