As a Fiction Writing Coach and Book Doctor, the programs and services I offer are built on more than thirty-five years of experience as a professional in the writing industry.
I've been published eight times, have held fiction writing retreats in the US, England, and Italy since 1998, and know that moving from the blank page to a finished manuscript is both challenging and exciting. It's also essential to the work I've done with hundreds of people and for myself.
If you want a Writing Coach or Book Doctor who lives and breathes fiction writing, I'm the one. I care deeply about helping my students and clients attain their freedom as fiction writers, and I believe this freedom is most fully expressed by completing a manuscript. I have been consistently helping fiction writers do this throughout my career.
My Background: I graduated from Barnard College with a BA in Writing and English Literature, and was a founding member of the National Writer's Union and co-creator of the hugely popular Westchester County Annual Writing Conference.
I've been active in the literary world since 1984, writing my own books, teaching privately, offering my Book Doctoring services, holding workshops, and running retreats in locations such as Glastonbury, England, Florence and Venice, Italy, Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, Maine, Glacier National Park and Wolf Creek, Montana, and Edisto Island, South Carolina.
My Books: I have eight books published, including Petersburg, which sold to GP Putnams for $250,000. The paperback was sold to Dell for another $200,000. Petersburg was translated into Italian, German, and Spanish and reached the Best Seller's list.
In addition to my novels and children's books, I've written many articles on writing and the creative process, and I've been published in Writer's Digest.
