Emily has realigned my sense of self and purpose... Sonia Giordani

"Working with Emily in the Mentoring Program has realigned my sense of self and purpose. Our weekly sessions are chiropractic for the creative soul, replenishing my identity as a writer. She helped me isolate crippling blocks and inspired me to challenge myself to write even when I suddenly remember I should clean the spot behind the toilet. Perhaps most importantly, Emily has been a trusted companion on my writing journey, one who has brought joy back into my writing life, making me smile and laugh along the way."

If you want to write, you need to talk to Emily... Bob Storms
"I began Emily's Mentoring Program with a massive case of writer's block... Emily, however, has a gift.  She knows writers, and she knows their inner critics. She helped me see how I empowered a fierce inner critic. She showed me how to take the drama out of its voice and make it a small, infinitesimal whisper. I'm now four hundred pages into a rough draft because she helped me find the courage to fall down the rabbit hole and to be nonchalant about the creative chaos that a rough draft entails. If you want to write, you need to talk to Emily."

Emily expands me as a writer... Anna Marie Hrivnak
"I am finishing my second year of the Mentoring Program with Emily. Originally,
I looked for a mentor who offered creative inspiration and was aware and present to my journey as a writer, someone with whom I could openly share my doubts and frustrations, as well as my successes. I looked for someone who believed in the magic and power of words. I found all these qualities, and more, in Emily.  Her ear is sharp and her critique of my work is presented in a way that offers me an opportunity to apply her insights and suggestions into my work through my own voice, thus expanding myself as a writer. Emily is the perfect fit!"

I realize how really good you are as a writing coach... Sara Healy
"I am pleased I sent you my writing. I realize how really good you are as a writing coach. I love that you get excited about our writing and don't take it apart. You delight in our creativity,
even when we're struggling. That's special, Emily. There aren't many people who do that. Thank you."

Emily is a magically gifted teacher... Kurt Blankmeyer
"In each of us flows a river, pooling at times into a sea, other times running swift, gathering and surging, this water of the soul is neither channeled nor bound by a neat "process." Yet there are means, or knowings by which it may be transformed. This is Emily's genius. She is a magically gifted teacher who recognizes that we all possess the ability to awaken the power of self-discovery.

I completed a novel that is beyond my wildest expectations!... Jackie Bennett
"It was immediately apparent that Emily understood the deepest emotionality of my story's message and intuitively knew how to help me access my own unconscious creative process. Suddenly, I was soon discovering critical new characters who were driving the tale into surprising directions. From beginning to end, thanks to Emily's probing and meaningful insights, I experienced the joy of seeing myself evolve as a writer. I now have a completed novel that is far beyond my wildest expectations!"

In a 30-minute session, Emily hit on what was wrong with my writing...  Angela Leone
When I finished reading my short story to Emily, she sat back and said, "This is a very sad story and I should feel ready to cry when I have finished reading it, yet the story doesn't make me want to cry." In one thirty-minute listening session, Emily hit on what I suspected was wrong with my fiction writing but had never been told by other coaches I worked with. She presented her belief that a writer has to be willing to dive into the "creative unconscious" in order to come up with the material that makes people laugh and cry and sigh over a piece of fiction. The process now feels like I'm a  seagull swooping down closer to the prize that awaits me under the water below.
